We are raising trout in Science Class.
Watch the eggs hatch!
The 3,4,5th graders have been using Scratch to create digital animations showing our trout eggs hatching. Here is a sample. We are going to continue to add to the animations as the fish grow and begin to swim around the tank.
Stay Tuned!

Holiday Fair is Coming
Sunday, December 7th 11-5

thank you Yael (Ze'ev 's mom) for the beautiful flyer. |
You Can Make a Differnce!
What event or project do you love? Where do you think that you can make a contribution? Whether you can work on something over time or just for one time, we need you!!!!
We have to cut $32,000 from our budget.
We will take the money out of our supply money that covers materials for children and teachers to use, our per diem money that covers teachers and paraprofessionals when they are absent and our per session money, that pays for teachers to do outside of classroom work such as writing curriculum or conducting classes such as the Girls Project (although the Girls Project will continue anyway).
This makes the Holiday Fair and the Silent Auction an even more important fundraiser this year.

Support the Neighborhood School Kids

Last year, The Neighborhood School, through the direct giving of families and friends received $21,000 in financial support. Those funds went a long way to provided an incredible classroom and community experience for our children.
This year the P.T.A. is once again committed to maintaining the same amount and quality of classroom support and student programming as it did last year and has for well over 11 years. This year’s $30,000 School Support, Student Programming and Community Enrichment budget represents a cost of about $150 per individual child; a drop in the bucket, when you consider the value of the investment.

Solicit donations for the 2008 Silent Auction
The school needs your support this year more than any other. With upcoming budget cuts, the school will be under more pressure to cut programs and activities that are vital to our children.
One way you can help is to write a check, the other way is to solicit donations for the 2008 Silent Auction. I know that a few are timid about asking so I’ll share my pitch: |
